INAKA NO KESHIKI
INAKA = country side
KESHIKI = landscape
You may find tombstones behind the house.
This is the typical landscape of country side in Japan.
Basically, Shintoism is a rutual for ancestors.
The ancestors wish for health, safety and happiness of their descendants.
Japanese people are living with the ancestors.
You can see by this picture that the ancestors are watching their descendants’ life and their daily production of food in rice fields.
And the descendants think their ancestors are saving them.
We value a society built by ancestors and build and improve the society for descendants.
As a result, we value nature and people.
I strongly recommend you to visit country side and remind my words.
This is the one of ways to understand Japan and Japanese.
